Local Life is built on one principle: your journal belongs to you and stays on your device.
Everything you enter into the app is written to your iPhone’s local application storage. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted to us. Backups are files you create and keep wherever you choose. If you delete the app and its data, your information is gone — we hold no copy, because we never had one.
The app makes no network requests of any kind, except those Apple makes on its own behalf to process a subscription.
When you add a screenshot to a capture or a knowledge entry, iOS copies that single image into the app’s own storage. The app has no access to your photo library beyond the individual images you choose — it uses Apple’s system picker, which runs outside the app and hands over only what you select. Images you add are stored locally alongside the rest of your journal and are never uploaded.
Local Life is free until seven days have been filled in, after which a yearly subscription is required to create new days. Anything you have already written stays readable, searchable and exportable regardless of subscription status.
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details, name, or email address. The app asks Apple only whether an active subscription exists; it receives no personal information in return. Apple’s handling of purchase data is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
The app is a personal planning tool intended for adults and is not directed at children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
